Apple Teacher Gifts

It's American Education Week!  Time to celebrate public education and those that make a difference in our children's lives.  Our school has had some fun events for the kids this week.  One day parents were invited in to the classrooms to share their job with the kids.  The kids also got a change to tour some fun work vehicles like tanks, helicopters, and such. 

Today they are honoring reading by dressing up as their favorite book characters.  We have a Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter series.  We also have Laura Ingalls from the pioneer days of The Little House on the Prairie book series.  The girls had fun coming up with outfits to fit their characters.

Tomorrow we are surprising our teachers with apple gifts.  The tradition of giving apples comes from showing gratitude to the teacher.  The apple also has seeds which represents the seeds that these teachers plant in our children as they grow.  The apples we were giving could be real or just apple themed.  We decided to go with apple theme.  If you decided to give real apples, check out my Chocolate Covered Apples.  I found some fake apples at the dollar store.  We thought they would be cute displayed on the teacher's desk.  I used a white paint pen to add #1 Teacher to it.  This apple will never rot!

After searching around, we found some apple scented soap, an apple scented mason jar candle, and a water globe that had apples in it.  All little goodies that went with our apple theme.  We also found these red buckets at the dollar store to hold all of our apple goodies.  All that is left is for the girls to make their own apple cards to thank their teachers.

I hope our teachers know just how much we appreciate all that they do.  If there is a teacher in your child's life that you couldn't do without, make sure that they know it.  Thank you teachers!
