I'm sure it's not easy having your birthday so close to Christmas. Many combo Christmas/Birthday gifts or not even having your birthday acknowledged at all. With just 5 days until Christmas, my hubby is turning 40! I didn't want this day to go by unnoticed. Instead we planned a trip to celebrate.
It had to be a weekend trip, and close enough for us to drive. What better place to go than South Beach, Miami.
Although we had some rain, the weather could have been much worse. I mean we were still in shorts and a sundress in the middle of December! Not too bad.
We spent the weekend walking on the beach...
Shopping...
and exploring the cool architecture in the art deco district.
We had a great relaxing weekend with some great food, drinks, and good times.
That wasn't all though. One of his birthday presents was tickets to the Miami Dolphins vs. Jacksonville Jaguars game. It just worked out well for me that the weekend we planned in Miami happened to be when the Dolphins played my Jags. How convenient! Lucky for him that it was his birthday and I was nice enough to arrange for his Dolphins to win one.
