Last Minute Valentines

As a blogger, I know I should have been making Valentine's Day cards and projects since the beginning of January.  Unfortunately, here it is Valentine's Day and I just finished putting together my daughters' cards to bring to share with their classes.  I had good intentions.  We went weeks ago to search the dollar store for ideas of little gifts we could use to make our cards.  We found some little grow capsules that the girls wanted to use as the base for their Valentines.  So the packets have been sitting on my dining room table waiting to be made into something more.

Then I got busy packing and planning for my 200 mile relay running race that I was captain for.  That takes some work!  So of course, things got put off.  I will be posting pictures and memories from our Ragnar Relay from Miami to Key West soon.  Such fun!  Although I'm still trying to catch up from being gone.  Seems someone had a party when we were gone (My 3 year old!), so we have some drywall repair to do in the bathroom.  I'm still trying to catch up on sleep since I had a total of 40 minutes on Friday night.  With meetings, Doctor's appointments, dance classes, homework, field trips, and a sick little one I'm still trying to catch up on laundry as well.  I still haven't even posted all of the gifts we made for Christmas either.  AAAAHHHH!  I'm not making myself feel any better!

So if you are anything like me, you might need some last minute Valentine's Day ideas.  We did end up using the little grow capsules.  I simply printed out little cards from a place card template.  I printed the directions for the grow capsules and "My Love for you Grows and Grows!" on the other side with my daughters' names.  I folded the paper into little pockets, stapling the edges closed.  I then used small stickers to close the top edge with the little capsules inside.  Simple and quick!

I also found these cute fortune cookie erasers at the Dollar Spot in Target.  I just wrote a little note on a sliver of paper, rolled it up and slipped it in the eraser.  I'm going to put the fortune cookies in the girls' lunch boxes so they can find their little note at lunch.  Afterwards, they can continue to use them at school as erasers!

My husband is even easier to buy for.  I know he will always enjoy an assortment of craft beers.  I didn't want to just buy him the beers, but maybe turn it into more of a gift basket.  I already had a basket that I had saved from a gift we received.  I found an assortment of craft beers at ABC Liquor, but you can also buy single beers if you want to choose your own.  Then I headed over to World Market for more fun items to add to the basket.

They have so many fun things.  I was able to find some Valentine's Day candy, spicy chips, pretzels, summer sausage, cheese, beer coasters, a muddler, Beer bottle opener rings, beer salt, and a mustache tag.  Very quick and easy to put together and I know it is all things he will enjoy.  Hope you were ready for Valentine's Day, but if not I hope you find some inspiration!  Happy Valentine's Day!
