Easy Felt Coffee Koozie Sleeve

Looking for a last minute gift for a friend, colleague or neighbor?  Or maybe you just want a little extra special packaging for a coffee gift card for a teacher, or even a stocking stuffer.  I've got the perfect little quick DIY project for you that every coffee lover will love.  Make them their own Felt Coffee Sleeve.  They are quick and inexpensive.

You will need two pieces of felt, some decorative ric rac or lace, and a piece of Velcro.  Start by finding a cardboard coffee sleeve to use as your pattern.  You should be able to find these at your local coffee shop or convenience store.  Open it up and trace it on to one of your pieces of felt.  I chose to make my second piece of felt slightly larger so that the color would stand out as an accent around my first piece of felt.

Cut out both of your pieces of felt and place them on top of each other.  Sew all the way around the outsides edges of your piece.

Place your decorative trim on to your felt and stitch in place.  I placed one side of my piece of Velcro right on top of the edge of my trim and sewed a straight stitch all the way down my sleeve to keep both my trim and Velcro in place.  You could also accent your coffee sleeve with decorative buttons, lace, ribbon, a patch, a name...the options are endless.

Sew the other side of your Velcro to the inside of your sleeve on the opposite end.  By placing your Velcro pieces horizontally, you are making your coffee sleeve adjustable.  This allows your coffee sleeve to be used on all size mugs.

Your coffee sleeve is ready for its mug.  Put it on a paper coffee cup filled with a coffee gift card and your gift is ready to give!
