The last day of school is always so bittersweet. It will be so nice to sleep in past 6am for sure. I do like that every day is different and we have so many fun things planned for this summer. However, it is not always that fun to run errands and go grocery shopping with three kids.
This year end was even tougher than usual on the girls. This is their last day at Crystal Lake Elementary. Our district went through rezoning this year, so we will be starting at a new school next year. The good thing is that the school seems to be similar to our current school and has a lot of fun clubs the girls can join. Unfortunately, almost all of their friends will be at their old school or transferring to different schools. The girls were definitely sad getting off the bus for the last time this school year. A few tears were shed.
I know the girls will do great at their new school though. I imagine the first day will be the toughest, getting used to their new school and a new routine. I'm sure they will meet some new friends and enjoy their school, it's just hard to start anything new. Until then, we will be busy with dance recitals, soccer games, pool parties, summer camp, soccer camp, vacations, and beach days. With all that we have planned, I'm sure the summer is going to fly by. I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not!
It's so fun to see these pictures side by side of the first and last day of school. They grow and change so much, but it goes by so fast that it's hard to see all of those little steps in the day to day. I'm so proud of my girls and the little ladies they are becoming. I look forward to spending more time with them this summer without all of the stress of homework and busy schedules. I hope you enjoy your summer and get to know your kids just a little bit better too.
