I have a small little travel case for my jewelry, but my watches and large necklaces just don't fit. I usually just throw them in the small inside pocket of my bag, but I worry about them getting scratched up or lost. These jewelry travel pouches can be made in minutes and you may already have all the materials you need.
This little pouch is perfect for those larger items to keep from getting scratched or lost, but still small enough to throw in your bag or purse.
All you need is a scrap piece of fleece and a piece of grosgrain ribbon about 22 inches long.
I used ric rac instead of ribbon in my example.
Use a bowl or plate as a pattern to cut a circle out of Fleece. Mine is about nine inches in diameter.
Next cut slits about 1/2 inch long about 1/2 inch in from the edge of the circle. Make these slits about 1 1/2 inches apart around the outside.
Thread your ribbon in and out of the slits until you have gone all around the edge.
Simply pull the ribbon to scrunch up the edges to make your pouch. Tie your ribbon into a bow to close. If you have smaller items, you may want to tie once, wrap the ribbon around the top to secure and then tie a bow.
The fun part is picking out a fun pattern from all that is available in fleece and a ribbon to match.
This project is simple enough to do with the kids. They can make their own little pouch for their toys.
You can also make larger circle pouches for a child's purse.
Increase the fleece circle to 20" diameter and the ribbon to 60".
After threading the ribbon, tie the ends together for the strap. Pull to close the purse.
