Now I'm going to share with you our yummy appetizers! I was inspired by the Bloomin' Onion Bread posted by The Girl Who Ate Everything! We decided to change it up just a bit to fit our tastes (really, so the kids would like it too). Also, I forgot to buy green onions.
Parmesan Bloomin' Cheese Bread
Adapted from The Girl Who Ate Everything
Ingredients:
1 unsliced loaf sourdough bread
12-16 ounces Mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/8 - 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut the bread lengthwise and widthwise without cutting through the bottom crust. This can be a little tricky going the second way but the bread is very forgiving.
Place on a foil-lined baking sheet. Insert cheese slices between cuts. Drizzle melted butter over bread. Sprinkle parmesan cheese on top. Wrap in foil; place on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Unwrap the bread and bake 10 more minutes, or until cheese is melted. Serve hot.
