Photo Ring

You've seen the photo pendants.  Now how about making a photo ring!  It's super easy to make and a great way to keep those you love close to you.

In order to make your own photo ring, you will need:
  • a photo - I printed mine out onto regular paper or have it printed out by a printer
  • a flat backed marble - I bought my package of them at the Dollar Store
  • a ring blank - one that has a little platform circle to attach to - Mine was Ring Bling by Plaid from JoAnns
  • Mod Podge
  • E6000 adhesive

You will need to print your photo out small enough to fit on the back of your glass marble.  I used the contact sheet size in my printing program and it worked well.  Otherwise you can resize your photo in a picture editing program to make it the right size.  Cut your photo out to fit on the back of your marble.

Apply a thin layer of mod podge to the flat side of your marble.  Place your photo right side down on to the marble.  The picture will show through to the other side.  Don't worry, the Mod Podge will dry clear and your picture will show through.  Apply a layer of mod podge to the back of your photo and allow to dry.  Apply a couple of more coats, allowing it to dry between each layer.

Now it's time to attach your photo marble to the ring.  Add a dab of E6000 adhesive to your ring base.  Center the marble on top.

You won't want to lay it on its side until it is dry.  Doing so might make the marble slide out of place.

Once the adhesive dries, your photo ring is ready to wear.  Bring your loved ones with you wherever you go.
