Bacon Jam Gift

When I first saw this post on babble's the Family Kitchen by Aggie's Kitchen, I knew I had to make it for my sister's boyfriend!  My sister is a vegetarian, but her boyfriend is the biggest bacon lover I know!  So I knew he would love this!

Find the recipe for Bacon Jam at Food + Words!  This bacon jam can be used on toast, breakfast sandwiches, burgers, chicken, deli meat or grilled sandwiches, or just about anything that calls for bacon!

It isn't hard to make, but it takes some time since you cook it in a crock pot for four to four and a half hours.  After it cooled, I spooned it into a medium sized jar I had on hand.  I created a small pig label for the lid and a Bacon Jam label for the front of the jar.  You can find label templates online or on Word.  I used mod podge to adhere the labels.  The jam is good for one month, so I made a little expiration date label and adhered it to the bottom of the jar as well.

I am happy to say that my sister's boyfriend was very excited to get this jam!  He had to try it right away with a spoon.  If it tastes great plain, imagine what it can add to your favorite dish!
This is a perfect gift for the bacon lover in your life!
