Portable Office in a Tote!

You may have read a while back that the hubby and I are now business owners!  This means that I am officially back in the work force.  The good thing is that I get to do most of my work from home.  The bad thing is I usually have a 15 month old little girl running around my house destroying things at the same time I am trying to work.  So the most important tasks and phone calls are done during nap time.

I don't have an office, so most of my work is done on the couch, or at the kitchen counter, or the dining room table.  I've been carrying my stack of files with me wherever I am working. I knew there had to be a better way.  I thought about getting a plastic filing crate, but wanted something a little smaller that I could bring with me if I went to the office as well.  They do have the smaller plastic file boxes with handles for travel, but they aren't very cute.

So the perfect solution for me was to go purse shopping!  Love purse shopping, so any excuse will work.  I first shopped the office store for a small plastic file tote.  Mine was open on the top and about six inches wide.  Enough space for all the files that I need to have with me all the time, but small enough to carry around.  I brought this file box with me purse shopping so I could make sure it fit right.  I was looking for a large bag that would be big enough to hold the file box, but still be able to close.

I was lucky enough to find this adorable Cynthia Rowley bag in the clearance section at Marshall's!  It was the perfect size to fit the file box, still had extra room for any other extra notepads and folders I might need, plus other pockets to help keep me organized.  I loved the fun zebra print on the inside!

Now my office is portable and ready to go with me wherever I might need to go.  Cute, portable, and organized!  So much better than my stack of files!
